The Ultimate Bonk Build

Up to DateNo DLC
Survival
Max DmgMeleeSpeedster

A stun-lock melee build that chains guaranteed critical hits by stunning enemies with instant-cast throwable projectiles, then smashing them with the Baseball Bat's 0.21-second crit rate. Two cooldown-reduction mutations feed off every crit and stun hit, keeping skills on near-permanent uptime and one-shotting nearly every non-boss enemy in the game.

Damage

476 DPS sustained at 1 crit per 0.21s against stunned targets. One-shots nearly every non-boss enemy regardless of level.

Survivability

Survival scaling provides a large health pool. Armadillopack grants a free parry on every roll. No dedicated healing — relies on health buffer and roll parries.

Boss

Trivializes all stunnable bosses including the Black Bridge. Stun-immune bosses (Hand of the King, Scarecrow, Ground Shaker) require trap fallback — primary damage loop is disabled against them.

Wiki

The cornerstone weapon. It replaces its standard combo with a rapid-fire overhead critical strike every 0.21 seconds whenever the target is stunned or rooted. Crits are hit-scan, making this the fastest effective melee weapon in the game against locked-down targets.

How to Obtain

Shields1 item
Shields (Flex)

Equip two shields of your choice in the skill slots. Armadillopack activates on-parry shield effects during rolls — prioritize shields with powerful parry triggers such as Punishment Shield or Assault Shield.

Traps (Boss Fallback)

Enable trap-type skills for the Hand of the King fight — the final boss is immune to stun, disabling the core loop. Purchase a second trap from the in-run shop before entering the fight and rely on trap damage and dodging.

Combat Strategy

1Phase 1/4
Preparation
3 steps
  1. Kill a weak enemy before any engagement to load starting ammo into Throwable Objects — the refill only triggers on kills, so secure one before the real fight.
  2. Assign your two shield picks to the backpack slot so Armadillopack has a shield to activate on every roll.
  3. Dump every Survival scroll immediately — both weapons and all three mutations scale from it.
2Phase 2/4
Core Rotation
4 steps
  1. Throw at the target to apply a 2.5-second stun, then immediately follow up with the Baseball Bat.
  2. Every bat hit triggers Heart of Ice (up to 2s cooldown reduction) and every crit triggers Instinct of the Master of Arms (up to 1s) — skills cycle back before the stun expires.
  3. Most non-boss enemies die before the stun wears off. Refresh with another throw on tougher targets.
  4. Use environmental stuns as free ammo saves — doors, hanging pots, and ground slams all apply stun without spending a throw.
3Phase 3/4
Boss Strategy
4 steps
  1. Stunnable bosses like the Black Bridge boss are straight punching bags. One throw, then chain crits until dead.
  2. Fast bosses like the Time Keeper do not stay stunned long — burst hard in the window and dodge between throws.
  3. The Hand of the King is stun-immune. Deploy traps, play defensively, and do not rely on the bat crit chain.
  4. The Scarecrow, Ground Shaker, and Giant's Fists are also stun-immune — treat all four as trap fights.
4Phase 4/4
Advanced Play
4 steps
  1. The legendary 'Graphic Violence' affix on a Baseball Bat stuns nearby enemies for 1.5 seconds on each kill crit, enabling chain stun-kills across entire groups.
  2. Throwable Objects ammo does not refill from damage-over-time kills — secure the final blow directly to get the ammo back.
  3. Shields with on-parry freeze effects pair especially well with Heart of Ice, which also triggers on frozen targets.
  4. Do not spend gold reforging weapon affixes at the Collector. The innate item synergies outperform any rolled stat.
