Auspex Boss Melter Tactical

Up to DateNo DLC
TacticalTactical
Max DmgRanged

An endgame Tactical loadout built to stack Auspex Scan into a 245% damage multiplier on a single high-value target (base scan +50%, Precise Calibration +75%, Concentrated Fire +120%). The Deathwatch Heavy Bolt Rifle with its underslung grenade launcher carries horde clear and crowd control, while Emperor's Vengeance refills the primary magazine and a grenade on every execution for effectively infinite fuel. Heightened Vigor grants hyperarmour on every perfect parry and the grenade launcher provides massive overhealing, so a normally-fragile Tactical frame holds the frontline while melting bosses for the whole team.

Damage

245% bonus damage on Auspex-marked targets (base 50% + Precise Calibration 75% + Concentrated Fire 120%)

Survivability

Heightened Vigor hyperarmour, grenade-launcher overhealing, Recoupment armour-on-headshot. Tanky for Tactical

Boss

Ultimate boss melter support. Auspex stack deletes Extremis and Terminus targets in seconds

Class Breakdown

Tactical

The all-rounder class of the Space Marine 2 roster, with the widest weapon pool in the game. Its signature ability is Auspex Scan, a long-range targeting pulse that marks an enemy and multiplies the damage it takes. Stacked with Precise Calibration and Concentrated Fire, a marked target takes 245% extra damage, which is what turns Tactical into the squad's dedicated boss melter.

Wiki

Heroic-tier Heavy Bolt Rifle running the underslung grenade launcher attachment. The bolt rifle's full-auto fire clears hordes and chunks single targets, while the grenade launcher delivers crowd control and, paired with Emperor's Vengeance, a renewable source of massive overhealing and armour restoration. This is the backbone of the build's damage and sustain.

Combat Strategy

1Phase 1/5
Preparation
3 steps
  1. Confirm Precise Calibration AND Concentrated Fire are both slotted. The 245% Auspex multiplier does not work without both.
  2. Equip the Double Shot Plasma Pistol with Charged Cooling for group play, or swap to the fire-rate configuration when playing solo.
  3. Stay within squad range so Secure Stockpile keeps the whole team supplied through boss phases.
2Phase 2/5
Core Rotation
4 steps
  1. Spam the Heavy Bolt Rifle on full auto to clear hordes and chunk single targets.
  2. Every 30 seconds, finish a Majoris execution to trigger Emperor's Vengeance, refilling primary ammo and a grenade.
  3. Keep Auspex Scan recycling on Extremis and Terminus kills. Vital Data refunds 50% of the charge each time.
  4. Tap the Plasma Pistol for elites and reinforcement callers while the rifle vents or reloads.
3Phase 3/5
Burst Window
3 steps
  1. Drop Auspex Scan on the boss or Extremis, then pour Heavy Bolt Rifle fire into the marked target for a 245% damage spike.
  2. Spend grenades freely during the window. Emperor's Vengeance and Skilled Supplier keep them flowing.
  3. Feed Plasma Pistol charged double-shots into the marked target between rifle reloads for extra burst.
4Phase 4/5
Sustain & Recovery
3 steps
  1. Land headshot kills on Majoris to trigger Recoupment for armour restoration as you fight.
  2. Fire the grenade launcher into groups for massive overhealing and armour restore.
  3. Parry to trigger Heightened Vigor's 10-second hyperarmour, then use Medicae Stims (boosted by Resilience) for high health returns.
5Phase 5/5
Advanced Play
3 steps
  1. Use the Chainsword animation-skip combo (Shoulder Charge, two light attacks, Shoulder Charge) to stun-lock Extremis enemies.
  2. In solo play, run the fire-rate Plasma Pistol to quickly interrupt reinforcement calls or contest a health pickup.
  3. Skip Kraken Penetrating Rounds while it is bugged, and avoid Balanced Distribution since its secondary-damage penalty weakens the Plasma Pistol.
