Viper Quen Igni Death March Starter

Combat / SignsA Death March opener built to carry a level 4–5 Geralt through bosses well above his level in White Orchard. Both Viper swords stack poison passively, Quen with Exploding Shield soaks a hit and knocks the attacker back, and Melt Armor turns every Igni cast into an armor strip that also burns and staggers.
Damage
112–138 silver and 49–61 steel base damage, passive poison, burning Igni with armor shred
Survivability
Quen absorbs a hit, explodes with knockback, 33% dodge damage reduction, Undying safety net
Boss
Beats over-levelled White Orchard bosses at level 4–5 on Death March

Combat
The Combat tree covers Geralt's swordplay, from Fast and Strong Attacks to dodging and Adrenaline. Its early skills add damage after a dodge and give you a second chance when your health hits zero.

Signs
The Signs tree upgrades Geralt's five spells, here Quen, a protective shield, and Igni, a burst of fire. Every Signs skill you unlock also adds in-combat Stamina regeneration, so you can cast more often.

Your blade for humans, bandits, and Nilfgaardians. It out-damages the starting sword and adds a passive poison chance, so steady Fast Attacks keep a damage-over-time ticking on most targets.
How to Obtain

Combat Strategy
- ▸Carry three Swallow charges and some food. On Death March, meditation refills potions but does not heal you.
- ▸Drink Tawny Owl before a tough fight so Quen and Igni come back faster.
- ▸Draw the right sword for the target: steel for humans, silver for monsters.
- ▸Cast Quen before engaging so the first hit is absorbed.
- ▸Chain Fast Attacks and slip in a Strong Attack only when there is a clear opening.
- ▸Dodge back instead of rolling. Save rolls for leaping and diving attacks.
- ▸If Quen is still up and you have Stamina, cast Igni to set enemies on fire and melt their armor.
- ▸When Quen breaks, Exploding Shield shoves enemies away. Use that gap to retreat and recast.
- ▸Hold the Sign button for Active Shield when you need to heal. Absorbed damage restores Vitality.
- ▸Swallow stacks with food, so use both together for faster healing.
- ▸Field bosses barely chase and barely regenerate. Back off, save, heal, and re-engage when a fight goes badly.
- ▸Igni is the key against bosses. It can stagger them, sets them on fire, and Melt Armor makes every sword hit land harder.
- ▸Keep the shield cycle going. One absorbed hit is often the difference between winning and dying on Death March.
