Set Auto Loot Rarity to Common in Options
The auto loot minimum rarity defaults to Rare in the Gameplay tab of the options menu. Lowering it to Common lets you collect every item in range with a single button press, covering an area roughly as large as the entire level. In co-op, once any player opens a chest, all others can use auto loot to collect the contents without walking to it.
Sell Green Gear and Dismantle Blue Gear
Green items carry no perk for the perk library, so selling them at a vendor for scrap is the best use. Blue items contain a perk, and dismantling them adds that perk to your library permanently, making it available to apply at any crafting station.
Don't Buy Gear From Shops Until Endgame
Mid-game shop gear gets outpaced quickly, and leveling purchased items at the crafting station costs too much to justify. Check shops for strong perks on epic items worth dismantling, but hold your scrap for endgame purchases.

Empty Your Inventory Before Going Out
If your inventory is full when you use auto loot, items go directly to your stash. If your stash is also full, they get automatically scrapped without any warning. Always clear space before heading into a mission to avoid silently losing gear.

Ignore Leveling Up Gear Until Endgame
Leveling gear costs significant resources and can only be done once per item, up to level 50. Since mid-game gear gets replaced frequently, spending those resources early is wasteful. Save leveling for pieces you plan to keep long-term.
Don't Improve Rarity on Low-Level Gear
Upgrading the rarity of a low-level item still requires leveling it up afterward, making the combined cost too high for gear you'll outgrow quickly. Save rarity upgrades for endgame items that are worth the full investment.
Swap Unused Skill Perks Onto Your Best Armor
If your highest armor value pieces carry perks for skills you don't use, replace them at a crafting station with perks that match your build. The red duplicate icon on a perk means you've already applied it elsewhere. Note that once you change one perk on an item, the second perk slot is locked and can no longer be changed.

Use Restock Boxes to Skip Reloads
During boss fights or tough encounters with a restock box nearby, restocking instead of reloading fills your magazine immediately on top of refilling your supplies. It's faster than reloading and leaves you with a full magazine in one trip.
Interrupt Enemy Abilities With Skills or Melee
When an enemy begins casting, using one of your abilities cancels it immediately. If no ability is ready, a close-range melee hit achieves the same result. Prioritize interrupting large AoE attacks and heals, as those are the most dangerous if they land. In co-op, coordinate cooldowns with teammates to interrupt more consistently.
Don't Spam Status Effects on the Same Enemy
Applying too many status effects to a single enemy triggers a resistance state, causing subsequent effects to show "Resist" and fail to interrupt or apply. Spread status effects across multiple targets and avoid stacking them on one enemy repeatedly.

Replay Story Bosses for Loot and XP
Story bosses can be replayed by opening the lobby and selecting an earlier story point. For the first major boss, return to Eagle Peaks and choose Investigate a Volcano's Peak to spawn directly before the fight. Co-op parties carry over when you change story points.
Pick Up All Side Missions Immediately
Accept side missions as soon as they appear, even if you don't plan to do them right away. Certain paths and areas are gated behind active quests, and having the mission already accepted saves you from backtracking to pick it up. Every side mission is repeatable by talking to the quest giver again, and completions can reward legendaries.
Save World Tier Rewards Until Max Level
World tier rewards scale to your current character level, so claiming them at level 30 gives you the highest possible ranked gear. The higher the tier, the better the reward, making the payoff from waiting even more significant at later tiers.
