1

Kill Elites to Scramble Fodder AI

Tyranids operate as a hive mind, and the game reflects this in combat. Killing the Elite leading a group of Scrubs can instantly kill or disable the smaller enemies nearby, turning a dangerous mob into a non-threat.

2

Read Threat Warning Levels Constantly

The on-screen threat warnings tell you exactly what you are about to face. Minoris means only small fodder nearby. Majoris means standard Elites are present. Extremis signals a side-boss level threat like a Lictor. Massive Wave Incoming means brace hard. Watch these constantly so you are never caught off guard.

3

Spam Dodge Roll to Outrun Swarms

When you are the last one standing, spam the dodge roll instead of running. Rolling moves you forward faster than sprinting, and with good timing you can avoid entire swarms for minutes without taking a hit.

4

Use Fast Charge Attacks on Hammer and Fist

For the Thunder Hammer and Power Fist, hold the charge attack for less than a full second until the charge effect appears, then release. The Thunder Hammer delivers a wide AOE slam, while the Power Fist sends a blast directly forward. Both deal significantly more damage than chaining light attacks and can be executed very quickly.

5

Recover Armor with Dodge Strikes

Dodge into a melee strike and then immediately perform the Kill Shot that follows. Nearly every melee weapon sets up a Kill Shot on smaller Scrubs after an attack out of a roll. This is one of the fastest ways to keep your armor topped up in the middle of a fight.

6

Shoot Venomous Barb Wire Cores Immediately

Left alone, venomous barb wires fill a poison meter that slows your movement. One bullet fired at the glowing core in the middle destroys it instantly. Do not ignore these during combat.

7

Stagger Lock Elites with Chainsword Strike-Kick

Alternating strike and kick with the Chainsword can briefly stagger lock Elite enemies, keeping them on the back foot long enough to push them into execution range. Use this when an Elite is already wounded and you need to trigger the execution prompt.

8

Prioritize Ranged Enemies Above All Others

Ranged enemies will whittle down your armor faster than anything else on the field. Deal with them first or delegate to a teammate immediately. If your primary weapon is close-range, use the Heavy Bolt Pistol or Plasma Pistol to reach them, as both have better range than most primary weapons.

9

Manually Reload Plasma Weapons When Hot

Venting speed on plasma weapons determines both the cooldown time and how quickly heat accumulates while firing. When the weapon overheats, do not wait for the red indicator to drop on its own. Press the reload button to instantly vent the heat and get back to firing.

10

Swap Power Sword Forms with Charged Dodge

The Power Sword has two forms: normal form for single targets and lightning form for crowd control. To switch forms, dodge and then hold the charge attack button during the roll. The form swap happens mid-animation, letting you pivot between dueling and AoE on the fly.

11

Focus on Armor Replenishment Not Avoidance

You will take damage constantly in Space Marine 2, and trying to avoid all of it is a losing strategy. The real goal is to replenish armor and health faster than you lose it through parries, Kill Shots, executions, and class abilities. Master recovery first, then worry about dodging.

12

Kill Shots Don't Grant Invincibility Frames

Unlike executions and parries, which make you invulnerable during the animation, Kill Shots do not. If you are surrounded, performing Kill Shots in rapid succession may not recover armor fast enough to offset the damage coming in from all sides.

13

Parry Attacks Without Blue Indicators

The game teaches you to parry only blue-lit attacks and dodge red ones, but most attacks from larger enemies can actually be parried without any indicator at all. Weapons with the Fencing trait make this especially forgiving, letting you parry almost anything on reaction.

14

Stagger Lock Elites with Combat Knife Chain

From a sprint or dodge, lunge in with a light attack, follow with a second light attack, then hold the charge attack to begin the heavy combo chain. Continuing to press the attack button extends the chain and keeps the target staggered, dealing solid sustained damage to Elite enemies.

1

Memorize Fixed Armory Data Locations

Armory Data always spawns in the same fixed positions across Operations missions. Once you find a location, remember it. After a few runs you will know every spawn and be able to collect them without searching.

2

Run or Roll Over Human NPC Obstacles

Human NPCs are no physical threat to a Space Marine. You do not need to fight through them. Simply sprint or roll straight over them to keep moving.

1

The Plus Symbol Means Half a Stat Point

When you see a stat value with a plus sign next to it, that means the stat is halfway between two whole numbers. A value of 4+ is 4.5, and 8+ is 8.5. Keep this in mind when comparing weapons.

2

Cleaving Potential Controls Weapon Hit Box

Cleaving potential determines how wide your weapon's hit box is on each swing. High cleaving potential, like on the Thunder Hammer or Chainsword, connects with multiple enemies across a wide arc for crowd control. Low cleaving potential, like on the Combat Knife, focuses damage on a single target. Match your weapon to the situation.

Save Guardian Relic for Mortal Wounds

You have three lives before a full death. Going down a second time gives you a mortal wound, and a third down kills you. The Guardian Relic cures a mortal wound when it revives you, effectively granting a fourth life. Do not burn it on your first down if a teammate can pick you up instead.
