Mortal Shell 2Endgame Build

Lightning God Proxima

Up to DateNo DLC
ProximaProxima
Max DmgMeleeRanged

Proxima built to bury targets under lightning stacks rather than raw weapon damage. The Axatana and the Salvaged Trebuchaxe both carry a permanent Lightning infusion, Ampereon doubles the damage and radius of every shock that lands, and Discharge leaves a nine second lightning storm on anything Biosampler touches. The constant shock ticks micro stagger most bosses and handle add control on their own, which is what lets the build carry a full playthrough into New Game Plus.

Damage

Biosampler at +180% damage with 5 bonus Lightning stacks, doubled shock damage and radius, +100% melee crit damage

Survivability

+100% Grafted Armor mitigation during Biosampler, full Lightning immunity, 110% mitigation effectiveness

Boss

Micro staggers most bosses through continuous shock ticks. Hexapod Core has stagger immunity and i-frames

Class Breakdown
Proxima

Proxima

Proxima is the lightning shell. Her Biosampler ability fires a hook from her left arm that either drags an enemy into range or pulls her to them, then follows up with a strike that applies Lightning. Her Grafted Armor passive gives a base 15% chance to cut an incoming melee or ranged hit roughly in half and cancel the stagger that would come with it.

Axatana
Axatana
Wiki

Dual twin blades that morph into an axe on heavy attacks, which gives you a single target mode and a crowd mode without swapping weapons. Light attacks stay in twin blade form, and that fast string is the point here because every hit carries the Voltaic Crown infusion. Duality Stone doubles the light combo on top of that, so a single string applies far more Lightning than the animation suggests.

How to Obtain

Cross the bridge past the enemies guarding a Blue Flame, which has to be extinguished before they can be killed. Take the Bone Gate through to the Vestige of Infinity and use the Launch PadThe overworld location map is sold by Merrick at Marrow Keep for 1,100 Coins

Salvaged Trebuchaxe
Salvaged Trebuchaxe
Wiki

A charged sidearm that launches axe projectiles for heavy single target burst. It is slow to load, so it is a punish tool rather than something you reach for under pressure. Voltaic Amber keeps it permanently Lightning infused and the Squall Stone leaves each projectile spinning in place after impact, which quietly extends how long a single shot keeps applying stacks.

Combat Strategy

1Phase 1/4
Preparation
3 steps
  1. ▸Infuse both weapons before the fight starts. Voltaic Crown on the Axatana and Voltaic Amber on the Salvaged Trebuchaxe both reach permanent infusion at Level 4, so this becomes a one time setup rather than a per fight cost.
  2. ▸Confirm Ampereon is at three tiers. Without the doubled shock damage and radius the whole build reads as mediocre, and it is the single most load bearing node in the tree.
  3. ▸Check which ability Tarstone is slotted. Hexapod Core is the default since the recent patch gave it i-frames, but swap to Shrike Stone against bosses where a gap closing plunge is more useful than a stationary barrage.
2Phase 2/4
Opening Combo
3 steps
  1. ▸Open with Biosampler. The hook closes the gap or drags the target to you, the follow up strike applies Lightning, and Seizure adds 20 Stasis stacks so the target moves slower for everything that follows.
  2. ▸Let Discharge do its work. The knockback buys you space and the nine second lightning storm starts building stacks immediately without any further input from you.
  3. ▸Follow into light attack strings with the Axatana. Duality Stone makes the light combo strike twice, so the infusion applies at double the expected rate.
3Phase 3/4
Core Rotation
4 steps
  1. ▸Alternate Axatana light strings with Salvaged Trebuchaxe shots. The Trebuchaxe is slow to load, so fire it into a stagger or into the window Biosampler just created rather than as a panic option.
  2. ▸Recast Biosampler as soon as Resolve allows. Attunement at three tiers cuts its cost by half, which is what gets you up to roughly four casts from a full meter.
  3. ▸Trust Grafted Armor to fund the loop. Every mitigated hit returns Resolve through Shellshock and shocks the attacker for 10 Lightning stacks, so trading hits is not the mistake it would normally be.
  4. ▸Use Hexapod Core when a target is committed to a long animation. It costs 60 Resolve, carries stagger immunity at Level 3, and each strike grants 3 Warp stacks.
4Phase 4/4
Sustain & Recovery
4 steps
  1. ▸Stay in melee rather than backing off. Exoshell gives +100% mitigation chance for the whole Biosampler animation, so the riskiest looking moment in the rotation is actually the safest.
  2. ▸Do not fear lightning damage in either direction. Ampereon Level 2 grants outright Lightning immunity, so enemy lightning and your own storm are both harmless to you.
  3. ▸Let Fortress cover the gaps. One tier raises mitigated damage effectiveness to 110%, which stacks with Grafted Armor's base 50% reduction.
  4. ▸Dying is not a full reset. Two tiers of Energize mean Grafted Armor always mitigates for 8 seconds on revival and Proxima releases a shockwave inflicting 15 Lightning stacks as she stands up.
