About Mortal Shell 2 Builds
A Mortal Shell 2 build starts with which shell you inhabit, because each one carries its own passive, its own ability, and its own four-tier skill tree. Eredrim absorbs hits and breaks enemies outright, Tiel generates Shadow for strikes from stealth, Gragu refills his own healing by killing, Proxima hooks targets and shocks them with Lightning, Sariel converts incoming damage into Pain that can be won back, and Genessa fights on as a Stray after her health runs out. The shell sets the shape of the build, and the rest comes down to which status effect you commit to. Weapons take permanent infusions of Frost, Lightning, Poison, or Bloodcurse, and only certain weapons accept a given element, so the status you want usually decides the weapon you carry. Tarstones are the modifier layer, split across infusion, combat, ability, and support stones, and stacking several that all point at the same status is what produces the large numbers rather than any single stone. Sidearms run on Resolve and are usually the burst window rather than a backup option. Because the game front-loads its difficulty, most builds are planned around what is reachable in the first few hours as much as around the endgame setup.
