The Ultimate Atronach

Breton / The AtronachA Breton/Atronach summoner mage that combines 50% innate Magic Resistance with a Mundane Ring to reach total magic immunity, then uses the Atronach's 50% Spell Absorption to turn every cast spell into free Magicka. Conjuration summons tank the front line while stacked Weakness to Magic plus Fire Damage custom spells two-shot Master-difficulty enemies. Tuned for Master difficulty no-death runs.
Damage
Two-shots Master-difficulty bosses via stacked Weakness to Magic and Fire Damage. Poisons deal full damage at Master.
Survivability
100% Magic Resistance (Breton 50% plus Mundane Ring 50%). Total magic immunity.
Boss
Trivializes caster bosses. Enemy spells become free Magicka via Atronach absorption.

Breton
Half-elf race with the game's largest innate Magic Resistance (50%), a +50 Magicka pool, and bonuses to Conjuration, Mysticism, and Restoration. Its passive magic defense is the first half of the 100% Magic Resistance stack that anchors the build.

The Atronach
Birthsign granting +150 Magicka and a permanent 50% Spell Absorption, but with Stunted Magicka which removes all natural Magicka regeneration. The absorption trait converts enemy spells and self-cast spells directly into Magicka, replacing natural regen with spell-fueled refills.
Native 50% Magic Resistance plus a +50 Magicka pool provide the defensive foundation that pairs with the Mundane Ring for full magical immunity.

A physical fallback weapon for moments when Magicka is depleted and absorption is offline. Standard one-handed blade that provides reliable damage before the magic loop is fully online.
Mods & Attachments
- ▸Damage Health Poison Coating— Apply Damage Health poisons to the weapon for a one-hit burst. On Master difficulty poisons deal full damage while player melee damage is halved, so poisoned swings punch far above the weapon's listed damage.Wiki
How to Obtain

The endgame linchpin of the defensive stack. A unique ring enchanted with 50% Resist Magic and 35% Reflect Spell as constant effects. Combined with Breton's 50% innate Magic Resistance it reaches the 100% Magic Resistance cap, making the character completely immune to magical damage.
How to Obtain

Endgame enchantment fuel pulled from the top of Oblivion Gates. Applied at an Altar of Enchanting, each stone converts a piece of clothing, armor, or jewelry into a constant-effect magical item. Prioritize Fortify Magicka for a larger pool, Resist Magic to pad the 100% cap, or Spell Absorption to increase the odds of turning incoming spells into free Magicka.
How to Obtain

The minimum alchemy apparatus for brewing the build's battery potions. Required to offset the Atronach's Stunted Magicka trait before the full absorption loop is online.
Alternatives
- Calcinator, Retort, and Alembic
How to Obtain
Hand-brewed potions that replace the natural Magicka regeneration the Atronach trait removes. Mandatory in the early and mid game before the full absorption stack is online. Also useful mid-fight when absorption fails to proc on incoming spells.
How to Obtain
The only in-game location with a permanent Altar of Spellmaking (for building the custom Weakness-stacking nuker) and Altar of Enchanting (for applying Sigil Stones). Access is gated behind the full Mages Guild recommendation questline and Apprentice rank.
Combat Strategy
- ▸Drink a Restore Magicka battery potion to seed the pool before engaging.
- ▸Cast any long-duration Fortify buffs and an Alteration Shield for the physical damage window.
- ▸Confirm the Weakness Stack Nuker and a summon spell are in your magic favorites.
- ▸Summon a strong creature to pull aggro and stand between the caster and melee threats.
- ▸Cast the Weakness Stack Nuker on the primary target for the first tick of Weakness to Magic plus Fire Damage.
- ▸Reposition to max cast range so the summon absorbs hits while the caster chains follow-up spells.
- ▸Chain the Weakness Stack Nuker. Each cast makes the next Weakness to Magic stronger, which amplifies the paired Fire Damage, scaling into two-shot damage by the third or fourth cast.
- ▸Let enemy mages attack. Incoming spells either hit the 100% Magic Resistance wall for zero damage or proc the Atronach's 50% Spell Absorption for free Magicka.
- ▸Top off with Restoration heals when health dips. Infinite Magicka supports unlimited self-heal casts.
- ▸Pop Restore Magicka battery potions when absorption procs dry up.
- ▸Stand in range of your own summon so its spell attacks feed your Magicka pool through absorption.
- ▸Kneel at an Ayleid Well or grab a Welkynd Stone for an instant Magicka refill in long dungeons.
- ▸Against physical bosses, keep the summon front-and-center and kite at range while chaining the nuker.
- ▸Against caster bosses, stand inside their spell volleys. Every cast they land is either resisted or refunded into your Magicka pool.
- ▸If a boss has high Magic Resistance, add a third nuker cast before expecting the one-shot. The loop always wins eventually.
