Khajiit / The ThiefA pure stealth archer that abuses the bow-to-dagger weapon-swap to apply the 8x sneak multiplier to ranged attacks, one-shotting enemies as early as level 1. By mid-game, five pieces of Chameleon-enchanted light armor stack to 100% invisibility, letting you take free shots even mid-combat. Pairs the Bound Bow and Frostwyrm with paralyzing Arrows of Stumbling and a Blade of Woe to keep the multiplier loop alive against any target.
Damage
8x weapon-swap Sneak multiplier on Frostwyrm + Storm Strike arrow one-shots Goblin Warlords (highest-HP enemy) at level 1.
Survivability
100% Chameleon makes the player undetectable even mid-attack. Armor rating becomes irrelevant.
Boss
Out-trades every encounter on the hardest difficulty. Build can become 'too easy' once the suit is online.
Khajiit
Cathay Khajiit start with +50 base Agility and Luck plus +10 Acrobatics, +5 Sneak, +5 Light Armor, +5 Athletics, +5 Blade, +5 Hand-to-Hand, and +5 Security. Their Eye of Night greater power casts a free 30-second Night-Eye spell, complementing the Detect Life amulet for dungeon work. Wood Elf is a strong alternate race for purists, trading the Khajiit's claws for +10 Marksman, +10 Sneak, +10 Alchemy, and +50 base Speed.
The Thief
Birthsign granting a permanent +10 Agility, +10 Luck, and +10 Speed. The largest total attribute bonus of any birthsign in the game and lands directly on three of the four primary stats this build cares about.
Unique Elven Bow looted from the Uderfrykte Matron at Dive Rock. Carries a flat 15-point Frost Damage enchantment with a 500-point charge pool, stacking on top of the bow's 15 base damage. The combined physical and elemental hit drives the weapon-swap exploit's per-arrow damage to one-shot levels.

How to Obtain

Five pieces of any Light Armor (cuirass, helm, greaves, gauntlets, boots) each enchanted with a 20% Chameleon Sigil Stone for a stacked 100% Chameleon effect. Total invisibility breaks enemy detection even mid-attack, removing the need for traditional armor rating. At level 17+, swap to 30% Sigil Stones to free slots for jewelry chameleon enchants.

Unique amulet enchanted with a constant Detect Life 30ft effect. Highlights every enemy through walls inside that radius, making stealth pulls and pickpocketing trivial. Pairs naturally with the Khajiit Eye of Night greater power for full dungeon awareness.

Combat Strategy
- ▸Drink an invisibility potion or activate the 100% Chameleon suit before the first arrow leaves the bow.
- ▸Confirm Frostwyrm and Blade of Woe are bound to two separate hotkeys, with Arrows of Stumbling stocked alongside Storm Strike arrows.
- ▸Position at long range with a clear line of sight on the target's head or body before crouching into Sneak.
- ▸Enter Sneak and verify the eye icon closes before firing.
- ▸Fire one arrow, then tap the dagger hotkey before the arrow connects to apply the 8x dagger Sneak multiplier to the bow shot.
- ▸Walk backwards while nocking the next arrow to keep distance from any aggro that survived.
- ▸Re-stealth between shots. Alarmed enemies need a few seconds to rotate back to a search state when 100% Chameleon is active.
