Ignite Pyromancer
Dark ElfDark Elf vampire pyromancer that stacks Atronach Stone, Atronach perk, and Necromage as a vampire into 100% magical absorption while spamming dual-cast Ignite for exponentially stacking fire damage. The Aspect of Terror perk bug adds a flat +15 base damage to Ignite when taken after Augmented Flames 2, pushing the spell from 4 to 21 damage per second per stack. Skips Smithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy entirely. Loadout is four artifacts and quest rewards: Ahzidal's Mask, Arch-Mage's Robes, Savos Aren's Amulet, and Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana.
Damage
21+ damage per second per Ignite stack after the perk-order bug, multiplied by Necromage (+25%) and a Fortify Destruction Potion (up to +50%). Stacks indefinitely on a single target.
Survivability
100% spell absorption against all hostile magic, including dragon breath and shouts. Glass HP against physical attackers. Kite or die.
Boss
Trivializes magic-using bosses (Miraak, dragons, dragon priests). Permanent Impact stagger-lock on anything Ignite hits.

Dark Elf
The Dunmer of Morrowind start with a 50% Resist Fire racial trait and a +10 Destruction skill bonus, two innate perks that line up exactly with this build's core damage school. Their once-per-day Ancestor's Wrath power surrounds the caster in flames as a melee deterrent. The native fire resistance also cancels out a vampire's stage-four 50% Weakness to Fire, making Dark Elf the smoothest race for the mandatory vampirism layer. High Elf (Altmer) and Breton are viable alternatives. High Elf brings the +50 Magicka racial and Highborn regen burst. Breton brings 25% magic resistance that frees up other defensive layers. Neither matches the Dark Elf's clean fire-resist offset to vampirism.

Heavy Dragon Priest mask from the Dragonborn DLC. Carries the Ahzidal's Rage enchantment, which adds 50% fire resistance and a 25% Augmented Flames bonus that stacks multiplicatively with the Destruction perk of the same name. Wearing this mask while in Arch-Mage's Robes is the no-craft-required armor combo that anchors the build.
How to Obtain

Quest-reward amulet from the College of Winterhold storyline. Adds a flat +50 Magicka, doubling the per-cast budget when paired with the Arch-Mage's Robes' +50 and the Atronach Stone's +50. No-craft-friendly Magicka pool padding.
How to Obtain

Pre-engagement consumable. Boosts Destruction spell damage by 20% to 50% for 60 seconds depending on the tier. Drink one immediately before opening with Ignite to multiply the per-stack damage on top of every gear and perk multiplier the build already runs.
How to Obtain
Combat Strategy
- ▸Equip Ahzidal's Mask, Arch-Mage's Robes, Savos Aren's Amulet, and Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana. The ring is what grants Ignite. Without it, the build has no damage spell.
- ▸Confirm the Atronach Stone is the active power. Check the Magic menu under Powers if uncertain.
- ▸Drink a Potion of Fortify Destruction immediately before opening hostile combat. The +20% to +50% damage runs for 60 seconds.
- ▸Confirm vampire stage is 1 by feeding on a sleeping NPC before any major encounter. Stage 1 vampirism keeps Necromage active without the stage-four fire weakness penalty.
- ▸Identify the priority target (boss, mage, or highest-HP enemy in the room).
- ▸Open with a dual-cast Ignite on that target. The first stack applies, Impact triggers, and the target enters a stagger state.
- ▸Maintain casting distance as the target tries to close. Use cover or terrain to break line-of-sight if the gap closes too fast.
- ▸Stay mobile during the wind-up. Even with 100% spell absorption, physical attackers and arrows still bypass the stack.
- ▸Dual-cast Ignite repeatedly on the same target. Each cast adds an independent 15-second burn stack that does NOT overwrite previous stacks.
- ▸Impact's stagger refreshes on every dual-cast, locking the target in a permanent flinch loop.
- ▸After 4-5 stacks the burn damage exceeds the target's incoming healing and direct damage. Most non-boss enemies die from stacks alone before needing a sixth cast.
- ▸Refresh the Potion of Fortify Destruction every 60 seconds during long fights.
- ▸Save Ancestor's Wrath (Dark Elf racial) for any moment a melee attacker breaks contact range. The 8/sec fire damage aura adds another fire-damage layer for 60 seconds and benefits from Augmented Flames.
- ▸If sustained Ignite spam isn't dropping the target fast enough, swap to dual-cast Incinerate or Fireball to finish. Both benefit from Augmented Flames 2 and Aspect of Terror's bug.
- ▸Vampire's Seduction works on hostile humanoid enemies as a panic button. Calm one attacker for 30 seconds while cleaning up the rest.
- ▸Magicka regenerates from Arch-Mage's Robes' +100% regen bonus, which exceeds the Atronach Stone's -50% penalty and produces a net positive baseline.
- ▸Spell absorption from the 100% stack also refunds Magicka on absorbed hostile spells. Standing in front of a casting mage is effectively a free Magicka potion.
- ▸Stay outside melee swing range. Physical damage bypasses the absorption stack entirely, and the build has no defensive armor or block layer.
- ▸If detected at low health, retreat behind cover and wait for Magicka to regenerate. Vampirism's stage-1 buffs also give a 25% sneak bonus that helps disengage cleanly.
- ▸The Ignite stack count can be ramped before combat starts by line-of-sight casting at unaware enemies. Each pre-loaded stack adds free damage when combat begins.
- ▸Dragons cannot be staggered by Impact, so dual-cast Ignite stacks burn through their HP without the stagger-lock. The 100% absorption stack still neutralizes their breath, so the fight is a pure damage race the build wins.
- ▸Necromage MUST be taken AFTER vampirism is contracted. If the perk is taken before becoming a vampire, the +25% / +50% retroactive buff does not apply to existing perks. Re-spec via Black Books or restart the perk allocation if this happens.
- ▸Augmented Flames must reach 2/2 BEFORE Aspect of Terror is taken. The +15 flat damage from Aspect of Terror's bug attaches to the post-Augmented base, not the raw base. Taking these perks in the wrong order produces a permanently weaker version of Ignite.
