Peep Every Creature You Encounter
Looking at a creature through the Peeper and pressing the scan key fills your Data tab with that creature's card, which lists its weaknesses, resistances, weak points, and item drops. Many newer players scan once and forget, so make it a habit every time you encounter something new.
Always Keep a Dandelion Tuft Glider Equipped
Chop down a dandelion with a pebble axe to collect the dandelion tuft, then slot it into your glider equipment slot. Deploying it mid-fall prevents all fall damage, which becomes critical in areas with large height differences. As a bonus, dandelions also drop weed stems, letting you gather tier 2 materials earlier than normal.
Use Your Bow to Collect Out-of-Reach Items
Dew drops, berries, Pupa, and flower petals sitting on high grass blades or plants can all be knocked down by shooting them with a bow. The item falls to the ground where you can collect it, and you can retrieve the arrow afterward. This saves the time of chopping down the grass blade or climbing up to reach it.

Analyze Every Resource at a Field Station
Any material with an exclamation point in your inventory can be analyzed at a Field Station. Doing so reveals what it can be crafted into, awards Raw Science, and unlocks new crafting recipes. Grass planks and weed stems are the only two resources that must be held in your hand to analyze. Everything else works straight from your backpack.
Manually Equip Mutations After Unlocking Them
Mutations do not activate automatically when you unlock them. After one appears on screen, open the Status tab and press the equip button to slot it in. You start with two mutation slots and unlock more as you progress, so always make sure every slot is filled with something useful.
Complete Three Burg.L Quests Every Day
ASL terminals at Field Stations and labs around the yard offer three daily Burg.L quests that reset each day. Completing them rewards Raw Science, which is the primary currency for purchasing upgrades in the BURG.L shop. Checking in and finishing these every session is the most consistent way to accumulate Raw Science.

Learn to Perfect Block Every Enemy
Timing your block at the exact moment an attack lands results in a Perfect Block, which completely negates all damage and eliminates armor durability loss. Every creature in the game has its own attack timing that you can memorize. Mastering this removes most of the gear pressure in the early game.
Never Let Your Oxygen Hit Zero Underwater
Unlike many survival games, Grounded gives no grace period when your oxygen runs out. The moment the meter empties you die instantly. Resurface to refill it, look for air bubbles rising from the floor of the koi pond, or kill nearby underwater creatures, which can restore oxygen on death.
Shoot Your Bow While Surfacing Underwater
You can fire your bow while in water by briefly surfacing to shoot and then submerging again. This lets you damage and harvest underwater creatures without needing a dedicated underwater weapon, which is useful in the early game before you have access to those options.
Break Websacks for Early Tier 2 Bug Parts
Websacks found near orb weaver territory around the Hedge and oak tree contain tier 2 materials including web fiber, bombardier parts, ladybug heads, and stink bug parts. Breaking them spawns a small group of spiderlings, which are manageable at low levels with careful play.
4 tipsBase Building
Place Water Containers Under Juice Boxes
Setting a water container directly beneath a juice box causes it to passively collect juice as the box drips throughout the day. This gives you a hands-free hydration source anywhere a juice box exists, useful for forward bases away from your main water supply.
Set Up Sap Catchers Early for Passive Sap
Sap catchers placed on the Hedge, near the oak tree, or on fallen branches collect up to five sap per day without any effort. Sap is consumed in large quantities throughout the game, so setting up several catchers early saves significant time spent manually hunting for it later.
Sprint with Pallets to Move Materials Faster
Grass planks and weed stems can be loaded into a pallet, which you can then pick up, relocate, and sprint with to your destination. Combined with red ant armor that increases carrying capacity for these materials, pallets make supply runs to remote build sites far more efficient.
Drop Grass Planks and Stems onto Zip Lines
Looking at a zip line and dropping grass planks or weed stems causes them to slide down automatically. This lets you move bulk building materials downhill without carrying them, which pairs well with pallets for moving large quantities quickly.
3 tipsCrafting
Use a Spinning Wheel for 1-to-1 Rope Crafting
Hand-crafting crude rope in the menu costs three plant fiber per rope. A spinning wheel converts one plant fiber into one rope instead, tripling your output from the same materials. It takes slightly longer per batch but makes a significant difference when crafting in volume.
Use a Grinder to Bulk-Convert Stems into Fiber
A grinder accepts weed stems, grass planks, eelgrass strands, clover leaves, and sprigs, converting them into plant fiber at favorable ratios. Weed stems are the most efficient input, yielding 40 plant fiber from just five stems. Pairing a grinder with a spinning wheel creates a fast rope production chain.
Use Jerky Racks to Triple Your Leather Output
Placing berry chunks on a jerky rack converts three chunks into three leather rather than the one leather you get from hand-crafting. This triples your leather yield from the same materials and applies to other craftable leathers later in the game as well.
