1

Master the Perfect Counter Knockdown

Press Y exactly when the counter indicator flashes blue to perform a Perfect Counter, which knocks enemies to the ground. The window to execute a downed enemy is generous, making it one of the easiest and most reliable ways to chain kills. Upgrade it with Ground Finisher to speed up ground executions, or Fatal Counter to instantly kill any grunt you counter.

2

Use Daggers to Stagger and Build Combos

Brace of Daggers lets you tap Left Trigger to throw a dagger that staggers nearby enemies and adds to your combo meter quickly. It is one of the best early skill purchases for staying in control of crowded fights.

3

Detonate Fire Pits for Cheap Crowd Damage

Hold Left Trigger and press X while facing a fire pit to trigger Detonate, setting off an explosion that damages most enemies in the area. Most orc enemies have a weakness to fire, making this one of the most cost-effective crowd control tools available early on.

4

Fill the Might Bar for Execution Kills

Execution is one of the most powerful moves in the game, delivering an instant-kill takedown once your Might bar is full. Upgrading the Execution skill lets you gain Might from taking damage, stealth kills, or unbroken combos, so pick the upgrade that suits how you play.

5

Use Secret Might and Fury for Fast Might Gain

Secret Might grants Might for every stealth kill, letting you enter fights with the bar already partially filled. Fury delivers rapid punches to downed enemies that each add Might, making it the fastest raw Might generator in the game. It carries some risk in crowded situations since you can be hit during the animation.

6

Buy Brutal Aggression for a Second Might Bar

Brutal Aggression adds a second Might bar, and filling both lets you trigger a Brutal Execution. This is especially useful against powerful captains whose health bars would otherwise take many hits to deplete.

7

Check Orc Captain Weaknesses in the Army Menu

Every orc captain has at least one weakness listed in the Army menu. Open the start menu, navigate to the Army page, highlight a captain, and click the right stick to see their full profile. Key terms to know: dazed means temporarily helpless, vulnerable means bonus damage, mortally vulnerable means an instant kill, and clumsy means easy to grab.

8

Stun and Mount Olog-hai for Battlefield Control

Press B to stun an Olog-hai, then press RB while it is dazed to climb onto its back and take control. From there you can walk it around the battlefield, letting it smash enemies with its club while you remain immune to all incoming damage. Pressing X repeatedly hammers the Olog-hai into enemies for extra damage.

1

Complete Rare Gear Challenges for Abilities

Every piece of rare gear has an associated challenge that, when completed, unlocks a special bonus ability on that item. These abilities range from stealth bonuses to combat recoveries and are significantly stronger than the base item stats.

2

Track Gear Challenges via Inventory Screen

Select any gear piece in your inventory and press X to pull up its active challenge. Checking this regularly keeps you focused on completing the right objectives to unlock each item's bonus ability.

3

Forge Three Matching Gems into One Stronger Gem

When you have three gems of the same type, you can combine them in the crafting menu to produce a single more powerful gem. Doing this regularly prevents your inventory from filling up and steadily improves the quality of your socketed bonuses.

4

Slot White Wealth Gems Early for XP Bonus

White Wealth gems slotted into your armor or cloak grant a bonus to experience earned, and because you gain experience from nearly every action in the game, equipping one early compounds quickly. Once your level is comfortable, swap to Red Warrior gems for damage boosts.

2 tipsEconomy
1

Kill White-Symbol Orcs for Fast Mirian

Orcs with a white circular symbol above their heads are carrying Mirian or gems. Killing them drops a burst of currency guaranteed. Completing bonus objectives in missions and finishing daily challenges are also reliable sources of regular Mirian income.

2

Destroy Spare Gear for Extra Mirian

Hold Y on any item in the inventory screen to break it down for Mirian. New loot arrives constantly, so there is no reason to hold onto redundant pieces. Clearing out your inventory regularly keeps your Mirian flowing without needing to grind extra fights.

1

Climb Tribe Towers for Guaranteed Gem Drops

Each hub area contains Tribe Towers marked with their own icon on the map. Reaching the top and pressing RB causes Talion to destroy the tower, and a gem always appears in the rubble. It is the most consistent way to farm gems in the early game.

2 tipsNemesis System
1

Let Both Captains Weaken Each Other in Nemesis Missions

Nemesis missions pit two rival captains against each other on the map. Hanging back and waiting for both to trade damage before you step in makes finishing both of them much easier. If one captain kills the other and grows stronger, that is still a benefit since a more powerful captain drops better loot when you eventually take them down.

2

Speed Up Nemesis Missions via Haedir Towers

If you want a Nemesis mission to resolve without your involvement, hover your cursor over a Haedir tower and press X to fast-forward time. The mission plays out automatically, and you can collect the outcome without fighting.
