Kingdom Come: Deliverance has no traditional class system. Skills rise through use, so a build is really a decision about what you spend your time doing. Every skill offers perks at set thresholds, and many of those perks force a choice between two mutually exclusive options, which is where a character takes shape. Combat revolves around weapon type and the combo system, and each weapon has its own skill line with perks that change how it handles. Armor is layered, with separate slots for padding, mail, and plate, and the layering means coverage and weight matter as much as any single piece's stat. Being noticed by NPCs depends on visibility and conspicuousness, so heavy armor has social costs alongside its protection. Stats such as Strength and Agility gate weapon requirements and affect stamina. The practical approach is to pick a small number of skills to push hard early, since a partially trained character struggles in this game far more than in most RPGs.
