Lies of P builds are shaped by three systems that do not exist in this combination elsewhere. Weapons split into blades and handles that can be mixed freely, with the blade determining damage and scaling and the handle determining the moveset and stat requirements. That means you can take a moveset you like and attach it to a blade that fits your stats, which makes the usual souls-like weapon commitment much more flexible. Legion Arms occupy your left hand and provide a separate ability with its own charges, and upgrading them is a parallel progression track to your weapon. The P-Organ is the third system, a grid of upgrades bought with quartz that unlocks passive improvements plus a slot-based system where each tier grants an additional effect. Amulets fill a small number of slots for percentage bonuses. Stats scale weapons through letter grades in the usual way, and the game rewards aggression through its guard regain mechanic, which returns lost health when you attack after blocking.
