About Elden Ring Builds
An Elden Ring build is a plan for stats, a weapon, and the buffs that multiply it. Your starting class only sets your initial stat spread, so it matters for efficiency at low levels and becomes irrelevant later. Most stats soft cap around 40 to 50 and again near 80, which is why builds usually push one damage stat to its first soft cap, keep Vigor high enough to survive, and put the remainder into Endurance or a secondary stat. Weapons carry affinities that change which stat they scale from, and Ashes of War let you attach a specific skill to most weapons, which means the weapon you like and the skill you want are largely independent choices. Talismans occupy a small number of slots and supply the percentage bonuses that stack multiplicatively with buffs from incantations and consumables, and stacking several of these is how one-shot builds are made. Spirit ashes act as a damage and aggro source in their own right. Shadow of the Erdtree adds Scadutree Blessing, a separate scaling track that governs damage and defense inside the DLC regardless of your level.
